Magnetic conditions and treatment identity
Field source, frequency, direction and protected region are essential inputs. A magnetic material label cannot establish a measured result or replace the field definition.
A permalloy sample needs a defined material and treatment state as well as a shape. State the field frequency, direction and observation locations expected in the project. If post-forming treatment is required, identify it in the manufacturing and sample record. Keep installation and handling conditions consistent when comparing changes. A drawing-fit result can confirm geometry, but it cannot supply a magnetic result for an unspecified field or an unidentified material state.
Engineering considerations for this project
Begin with the magnetic task and its observation region
A permalloy cover requires the field source and protected region to be described before geometry is selected. State the customer conditions that define the task, including frequency, orientation and relevant source or observation positions. A material family cannot supply those conditions. The cover shape should follow the intended field arrangement and available mounting space together. This lets a sample proposal address a defined magnetic problem rather than become a generic metal enclosure selected only through its appearance.
Compare material and structural options on a consistent basis. If one proposal changes the source distance or cover orientation along with the alloy state, identify all of those differences. The observation may otherwise describe a new arrangement without isolating the intended design decision. Mark seams and openings with their positions and purposes. The comparison is about the completed sample in the agreed field, not an assumption that a high-level material label establishes a verified result in every installation.
Carry the material and treatment state through manufacture
Provide the exact alloy designation and supply condition with the shape. If the project specifies a post-forming treatment, identify its requirement and the delivered state. Keep that process version linked to the sample intended for evaluation. The drawing should distinguish intermediate manufacturing information from the final geometry and material condition accepted for use. A part that meets a shape check still needs the corresponding material definition before it can represent a magnetic comparison.
Review forming, later operations and installation with the material requirement. Identify regions where local shape or handling matters to the project sample. Protect the agreed final state during mounting and record any subsequent operation that changes it. This discussion does not assign an unprovided treatment cycle or material property. It establishes what information must remain traceable so a change in the process is not overlooked when the cover is assessed under the customer’s field conditions.
Keep mechanical fit distinct from field verification
Inspect the cover against defined mounting and source-position references. Check openings, seams and surrounding components in the intended orientation. Those observations establish the sample geometry and installed condition. Magnetic evaluation uses the specified source and observation method, with the material state recorded. Keeping the two records separate prevents a correct mounting fit from being treated as a magnetic result and prevents a field difference from being assumed to identify a dimensional fault.
When reporting a comparison, identify the source, cover orientation, observation positions and any treatment or installation changes. Use the same basis for the next version where the project allows it. A difference in field configuration or surrounding structure should be recorded explicitly. This gives engineering a way to decide whether to review shape, opening, material state or another condition. A photograph and a grade name cannot replace that sample and evaluation record.
Freeze the accepted magnetic sample definition
A quotation package should identify the intended material, geometry, mounting and field-evaluation scope. Separate fixed requirements from alternatives still being reviewed. If the customer also has a general conductive-enclosure or connection-related task, identify it separately instead of blending all concerns into one material instruction. The supplier can then assess manufacture of a defined cover while the customer test plan establishes what the sample must demonstrate.
For a revision or repeat order, retain the accepted drawing, material and treatment condition and the installed references used in evaluation. A new field source or mounting orientation can require another review even when the cover shape is unchanged. This keeps the supplied component tied to its actual project conditions without inventing magnetic attenuation, a universal usable field range or an application approval absent from the evidence.
Boundary, clearance and mating design
Review shape, seams, openings and distance from the source. The arrangement should correspond to the intended field conditions as well as the available space.
A material comparison is most useful when the geometry and installed interfaces are identified. Mark where the shield lands, where it closes and where signals or connectors cross the boundary. The intended circuit region and operating context remain important even when the search began with an alloy name. A different material is not a substitute for an undefined attachment or opening. Keep those relationships fixed, or explicitly identify them as changes, when evaluating alternatives.
Material and final surface definition
Build the material definition from the applicable grade or standard, supply condition, thickness and final surface. State which requirements are mandatory and which alternatives may be reviewed. If documentation is needed, identify its scope with the project rather than assuming a product photograph supplies it. This separates identity from performance: the material record establishes what was used, while the agreed part and application checks establish the relevant condition of the sample.
Forming and the installation sequence
Define material state and any required post-forming treatment. Consider forming, handling and installation when preparing the sample evaluation.
Review the actual formed features with the material condition. Bends, small corners, cut edges and working retention areas pose different questions from a flat sheet. Specify functional dimensions on the finished component using meaningful datums. If later processing changes a mating surface, inspect the final state. The manufacturing route should be reviewed with the whole drawing package instead of selected from the alloy name without its geometry and installation requirements.
A magnetic-field project needs a field definition
Compare material and shape under the field conditions relevant to the protected region. Identify source location, frequency, orientation and observation positions, and keep the material treatment state recorded. Openings, seams and proximity can affect what is being assessed. If the project also has a conductive-enclosure task, document that separately. One successful dimensional check cannot combine those different engineering questions into a universal shielding claim.
Part inspection and application evaluation
Use customer-defined field conditions and observation positions, recording orientation and treatment state. Mechanical fit and field evaluation answer separate questions.
A drawing package for this custom part
| Input | What makes it usable |
|---|---|
| Coverage & interfaces | Field source, cover orientation, openings, seams and treatment state. Mark their relationship with the actual circuit or mating layout; identify fixed references and permitted changes. |
| Final part & datums | A dimensioned finished-part drawing and available 3D information. Identify functional dimensions, the installed condition and the measurement references used to accept them. |
| Material & surface | The specified grade, condition, thickness and final treatment. Show contact, joining and insulated regions separately; identify any alternative that needs evaluation. |
| Assembly & acceptance | Corresponding mating revisions and the installation or access sequence. Distinguish part inspection, matched fit and customer system checks with their agreed conditions. |
Questions for this design review
What belongs in the magnetic sample record?
Identify the alloy and treatment state, cover orientation, source arrangement and agreed observation conditions. Record forming or installation changes that could affect the sample state. Use the same comparison basis for subsequent versions. A material document establishes identity and a fit check establishes geometry; neither supplies a result under an unspecified field. The customer test plan should define the measured objective before a sample result is judged.
Which drawings support the review of Permalloy Shielding Cover?
Use the current layout and mating assembly to identify field source, cover orientation, openings, seams and treatment state. Mark the relationship that is already fixed and the specific feature being considered for change. A drawing of the cover alone may omit the condition that gives the reference its engineering purpose. Include the corresponding board or base and the intended operation so the proposed revision can be evaluated against a defined task rather than a similar-looking external shape.
In-House Tooling & Formed-Part Quality
Tooling development and forming quality
The manufacturing review for Permalloy Shielding Cover connects how critical features are formed, how they are inspected and how they meet the mating assembly. Ruishuo links in-house die design and CAD/CAM simulation with stamping. Die-making output of more than 100 sets per month is a factory capability; the tool concept is reviewed for the actual project.
Establish the route before specifying the tool
Define the grade, material condition and part form before reviewing a manufacturing route. Where tooling is appropriate, connect the forming, finishing and installation requirements. The actual geometry and quantity guide the tool concept and sample acceptance plan.
- Material and process compatibility
- Specify the material and final treatment from controlled inputs. Appearance alone cannot establish the material or the required process.
- The delivered condition
- Check the profile, datums and mating locations against the drawing. Use the customer-defined method and conditions for any additional functional validation.

Paid samples include a full dimensional inspection report. Define drawing datums, acceptance criteria and corresponding mating parts so measurement and installed-fit checks can each answer the correct question. Confirm the charges, responsibilities and revision requirements for design changes, tooling work and later production stages within the project scope.
Paid samples and project planning
Samples are chargeable. Reference planning: standard samples 3–5 days; expedited sampling 48 hours; tooling and sample production 7–10 days. These are sample-stage arrangements, excluding mass-production delivery. The project plan is reviewed against the confirmed information, process and sample scope.
