Give the sample a specific engineering question
A sample may be intended to check component clearance, board installation, frame-to-lid engagement or a material and finish requirement. Define the question first, then agree the route, quantity and assessment method. A similar-looking part does not establish that every production requirement has been verified.
Ruishuo supplies charged samples. The fee, quantity and manufacturing scope are quoted for the actual part and agreed plan. A sample request should distinguish design validation from trial production and identify the mating parts needed for evaluation.
Three schedules, all within the sample stage
| Sample route | Timing | Inputs to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Standard samples | 3–5 days | Drawing revision, material, finish, quantity and checks |
| Expedited sampling | 48 hours | Availability for the geometry, process and validation scope |
| Tooling and sample production | 7–10 days | Tooling inputs, trial process and sample approval criteria |
These schedules exclude volume production and delivery. The confirmed process and sample plan govern the arrangement; changes to the material, drawing or validation scope require the affected schedule to be reviewed.
Prepare the mating parts and acceptance method
Geometry and clearance
Supply the PCB or assembly model, component keep-outs and actual mating parts. Use drawing-compatible references to assess the shield height, openings and attachment features.
Frame, lid and contact
Define installation and removal direction, retention method, contact locations and working conditions. Inspecting individual outlines does not replace assembled-fit checks.
Material and final surfaces
Keep the material, thickness and finish revision with the sample. If environmental or system testing is required, agree the conditions, method and acceptance criteria separately.
Understand what the selected sample route proves
A route selected for rapid geometry review can answer particular dimensional or fit questions. Features affected by the final forming or finishing process may still need to be reassessed when that process is introduced. Record the scope so the sample approval is useful for production preparation.
Paid samples are accompanied by a full dimensional inspection report. Review the measurements against the drawing, then use the matching PCB, frame, lid or enclosure to assess the assembly. Describe issues by location and condition: where a lid interferes, which mounting feature is offset or which final surface needs attention.
Identify the sample revision
Confirm the part drawing, mating geometry, material and finish. State the project stage and objective of this sample set.
Record the findings
Keep dimensional, fit and validation results tied to the relevant feature and drawing revision.
Close the changes
Update the revision, reassess affected requirements and record approval before releasing the next stage.
Sample approval prepares production; it does not set delivery
Volume quantity, tooling and material arrangements, finishing, inspection and packaging remain production inputs. The delivery plan is confirmed with the order conditions after these items are reviewed.
In the first RFQ, list the sample quantity, expected initial batch and future demand separately. Include your target milestones and attach the current drawing by email using the same project reference.
